Framed bags were the height of fashion in the 60’s and early 70’s and a constant feature in the wardrobe of Her Majesty The Queen during this period. The much loved archive bag from 1972 is a stylish example of a framed bag – elegant and understated.
THE ERA OF NUMERALS
Illustrious names for the designs were created from 1981 onwards to suit the handbag’s personality – the ‘1972’ stayed in the collection until the late 1980’s when the trend for non framed styles took centre stage and when the signature Traviata launched.
